My Own Galaxy
Sometimes when I’m down I think about the inevitable heat death of the universe. Billions of orders of magnitude into the future, when individual atoms are as far away from other atoms as stars are from each other now. Nothing exists anymore but atoms. Atoms too far away from each other to build anything together. My worries become trivial. It’s a lot like remembering that I’m...

DEAD DRIFT: Dead Drift moves forward →
spacedrift:
Yesterday was a particularly productive day in the world of Dead Drift.
1 - Matty, aka Captain Banks, was able to try on his flight suit for the first time. It fits fairly well, and with a few modifications will be good to go.
2 - Mike at Studio 23 Metalworks in Olympia agreed to host the…

Inflated Ego
Confession: I have never used a blow-up doll. I know, I haven’t really lived, have I? There are several scenes in Dead Drift that call for a life sized blow-up love doll. So I find myself perusing amazon for the perfect doll. I’m surprised at the amount of options. There’s “3 Hole Brianna,” “Lusty Busty,” with the 3D face, California Exotics’...

I Didn't Come Here Looking For Trouble
I’m so glad Red Dwarf is back on the netflix instant situation. And it’s the version before they replaced garbage can Red Dwarf ship with crappy 90’s CGI. I can understand wanting to update your show with newer technology as it progresses, but I never understood the “Hey, let’s go back and update our older stuff with new technology! Let’s replace the countless...

Just Say No
All over Olympia I keep seeing bumper stickers and signs that read “COAL TRAIN” with a big X over the words. Kinda weird, I never knew people in this town hated jazz so much.

McBlowfish
A Pearl Jam joke in the first episode of Dead Drift wasn’t testing very well, so I’ve replaced it with a Hootie and the Blowfish joke. I think a Hootie and the Blowfish joke is inherently funnier, but I also think David Letterman is an unsung comic genius.

Dancing Around the Dirty Truth
I’ve never seen Dirty Dancing. I know - ridiculous! It’s not that I don’t think I’ll enjoy it, quite the contrary, I don’t think it would be considered a classic if it weren’t a fantastic movie. I’ve just never gotten around to it. Allison owns a copy, but Futurama and DS9 reruns win out every time I sit down in front of the TV. I should probably watch...

A Classic Blunder
A while back someone I know posts on facebook “Just watched Back to the Future, and it still holds up!”
No kidding? Well isn’t this interesting. I’m surprised to hear you give credit to anything made before 2005. Do me a favor, listen to Beethoven’s 9th and tell me how it stands the test of time. You know Back to the Future is called a “classic” because it’s one of the greatest movies of...
