4 out of the 6 plugs in the cabinets formerly had red and green transparent plates. The plan was to key out the green plates and insert technical animations, and put transparent “LCARS” panels over the red ones. I inserted transparent “LCARS” panels over the red ones, but decided to forgo the hassle of keying out the green ones. Instead I mounted these relay clusters over them, with just enough of the green showing that light will bleed through and illuminate the relay clusters in a cool way. I really like the drastic change of direction that hit me on this portion of the set yesterday, because I really wasn’t happy with the former direction. Now I’m digging the hell out of it. I love that it looks dirty, grimy, well used and on the dilapidated verge of just falling apart. I think this environment will help understand the character of Morris a bit better. He thought he knew what he was getting into, but once he’s floating in deep space, he realizes he has no idea how to fix half of this shit, but he has to keep faking it so the Captain doesn’t find out.
We’ll be finished shooting Captain Banks’s stuff on the bridge set in the next few weeks. After that I’m looking forward to getting over here and shooting Morris’s stuff on this killer engineering set.
Added a few more things to the front console of the engineering set yesterday, but the majority of progress was made in the back half of the set. A bunch of relay clusters were added to the existing set up, and I think they look way cooler.

Construction continues on the Engineering set of the JF Sebastian! This will be Maurice Morris’s communication console and operations center as he maintains the ship while on it’s course to Titan.
Starting to add more greeblies to the engineering set of the JF Sebastian. Some gray paint, and a nifty rope light too. It’s really beginning to take shape!
